From the small screen to the really big screen
It’s always satisfying seeing our work out in the wild. When it’s several metres wide and promoting a primetime television series, it’s considerably harder to miss.
We recently created a billboard and supporting social media campaign to promote Dover 24/7: Britain’s Busiest Port, the Channel 4 series taking viewers behind the scenes at one of the world’s most famous ports.
Big subject. Big canvas.
Our billboard design had to deliver three messages: welcome people to the Port, promote the TV programme and sell the billboard advertising space.
Outdoor advertising can be quite unforgiving. There’s no scrolling back and often, very little time for explanation. Strong imagery, clear hierarchy and an immediate sense of what’s being promoted all have to work together, with anything unnecessary left deleted.
The result was a bold piece of large-format creative designed to make Dover 24/7 difficult to drive past without noticing.

From roadside to social
Previously we had also developed a series of social media graphic templates, translating the campaign into formats designed for a very different kind of viewing.
The scale may have changed dramatically, but the principle didn’t: strong imagery, clear messaging and a consistent visual identity that people could recognise at a glance.

Close to home and close to our hearts
We’re all enjoying Dover 24/7: Britain’s Busiest Port. It brings to TV a most extraordinary and impressive operation. Aerial footage conveys the scale, with ferries, freight, cruise ships, and harbour all in action underneath the iconic White Cliffs. On the ground, behind the scenes stories from the round-the-clock human operation.
We’ve worked with the Port of Dover for many years now. We’ve seen their challenges met, ambitions and plans wonderfully realised. To watch them on television feels just recognition and celebration of their hard work and makes us immensely proud of the Port and our place in working with them. Helping in a small way to put that story in front of an even bigger audience was a project we were very pleased to be part of.
